The HourLoop method

Every 15 minutes should have an intention, not necessarily a completed deliverable.

Quadrants create a lightweight moment to choose, work, reflect, and adapt. They are not a demand to produce a new deliverable every quarter-hour.

Intent types

Choose the context that reflects the work.

  • Execute or deep work
  • Collaborate or communicate
  • Review, learn, plan, or admin
  • Recover, break, or wait

Continue with context

A substantial task may continue across several quadrants. Continuation is tracked separately from failure or avoidance.

Recover sustainably

After two to three focused quadrants, HourLoop can recommend a short review or recovery opportunity. Breaks are excluded from productivity scoring.
